Settingĭarkest Dungeon is characterised by its dark Gothic setting and atmosphere, strengthened by ominous cinematics and stressful gameplay accompanied by a ruthless Narrator. Progress autosaves constantly, so actions are permanent. Darkest Dungeon is about making the best of a bad situation. Provisions and Trinkets can be used to adjust, train, and upgrade the player’s loadout to find the right combination of skills (together with Camping Skills) to defeat the threats in their way. At all times, the player has to juggle the need to do damage with the importance of protecting the health and minds of party members.
